Reports of Water Supply Odor

There have been reports of scattered water supply odor complaints in the borough and we wanted to share this information with you.

Beaver Falls Municipal Authority (BFMA), our water supplier, has been experiencing intermittent problems with their new water feed equipment used to make chloramines.  This resulted in the formation of di- chloramines and tri-chloramines and is the source of this odor problem. During this time, there was also a higher demand on for use of the Beaver River, so the chlorine use was increased to meet their contact time for disinfection.

Please know that the water is tested every day and is safe for use.  The issues the BFMA experienced have been resolved, and you should notice a difference shortly.  We apologize for any inconvenience or concern.
