Civil Service Commission Testing


The Borough of Zelienople Civil Service Commission will be conducting competitive testing for Part Time Police Officer. The testing process includes a physical agility test that will be graded pass or fail. Candidates who pass the agility test will be permitted to take the written examination. Candidates who pass the written test will be offered a graded oral interview. Test dates will be scheduled once all applications are received. The grading of all tests will be in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the Borough of Zelienople Civil Service Commission.

Applicant Qualifications & Requirements:

21 years of age

Act 120 Certified by the MPOETC

High diploma or equivalency

Valid Pennsylvania operator’s license

United States Citizen

Applicant must be both mentally and physically fit to perform the duties of a Police Officer

Applicants who are placed on the eligible list will be required to pass a background check.

Applicants who are offered a position will be required to submit to Physical and Psychological Examinations.

Additional Information:

Applicants hired by the Borough of Zelienople will be subject to a one-year probationary period.

All wages are in accordance with the Current Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Requests for applications can also be made by email at  Test admission ticket will be mailed out along with the test dates upon receipt of completed applications.
