Community Events Cancelled

Press Release – Community Event Cancellations

For immediate Release

The Zelienople Borough Council made some very difficult decisions given the COVID-19 situation and felt it is in the best interest of the community to cancel the following events:

  • Memorial Day Public Service
  • All 4th of July public events including parade, fireworks, and park activities.
  • Horse Trading Days

Throughout the entire COVID-19 pandemic, the Borough has strictly followed all State, Department of Health, and Center for Disease Control guidelines in dealing with this issue and the decision reached on the above events is a continuation of that practice.

It is with a heavy heart that this decision was made given the historical, economic, and social value these events have to our Borough, and know how important they are to the very fabric of what Zelienople is, but it was a decision that needed to be made in order to insure public safety at this time.

We have hope that these events will indeed be able to happen in the future and feel assured that our Borough will indeed respond to this announcement with understanding and support.
