Administrative Assistant to Chief of Police

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week, M-F) based in the Zelienople Police Department.  The Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to the Chief of Police; performs other department office management functions and other duties as assigned. The Administrative assistant is expected to exercise considerable independent judgement in solving administrative issues and performing a wide variety of technical administrative duties with minimal supervision. The position reports directly to the Chief of Police and has no supervisory duties.  Applicant shall be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Experience working with social media platforms and the ability to learn and operate multiple computer programs related to law enforcement operations is required.  Applicant must have high school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of two years administrative office experience required. Associate Degree preferred.

The successful candidate will be required to establish legal full-time residency within a radius of fifteen (15) air miles of the Borough limits within ninety (90) days following the attainment of regular full-time employment status.  Successful candidate will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screening, execute a confidentiality agreement and pass a background check. The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain any type of security/criminal history clearance mandated by local, state and federal agencies during the course of their employment.
