Housing Rehabilitation Grant Funds Available!
Housing Rehabilitation grants of up to $12,000.00 are available to residents of Zelienople Borough, who qualify under the Community Development Block Grant program, to bring their homes up to Housing Quality Standards per the Department of Housing and Urban Development. A separate grant of up to $2,500.00 is available to assist persons with disabilities in modification for accessibility.
The owner occupied home rehabilitation program is open to all income-eligible, single-family owner occupied residents of Zelienople Borough.
Housing Rehabilitation includes the repair and/or replacement of windows, roofs, interior and exterior doors, electrical and plumbing components.
These grants are made available from Zelienople Borough’s Community Development Block Grant program allocation.
The Redevelopment Authority of the County of Butler administers the housing rehabilitation program on behalf of Zelienople Borough. To apply for housing rehabilitation funds, please contact the Redevelopment Authority of the County of Butler at 724-287-6797 between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Zelienople Borough residents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity. This program is completely confidential in nature. If the block grant funds allocated for Zelienople Borough are not used, the money must be returned to the state to be distributed to other municipalities. Free Medical Assistance
Monies are available through the Howard Eckhart Trust Fund to assist Zelienople Borough residents who are victims of polio or cancer with their medical expenses. Applicants must meet three criteria to be eligible for the assistance:
Be a Borough resident
Be a victim of either polio or cancer
Prove a financial need
The Trust fund is overseen by the Zelienople Borough Council President, Zelienople Borough Mayor, the Manager of the Bank that handles the Fund, and the Pastors of the English Lutheran Church and St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
